Ka (Ancient Egyptian: bull/life force) is a work that represents the vital force in Egyptian mythology through the Apis Bull, incarnation of the creator god Ptah and linked to Osiris after death. The bull advances through a cosmic landscape toward a sacred light in the shape of an ankh, surrounded by ancient symbols: the cobra representing Lower Egypt, the vulture skull symbolizing Upper Egypt, a scarab of rebirth, a funerary shabti, a protective scorpion, and fragments of broken pottery evoking the fragility of life. All of this unfolds beneath the Milky Way, which represents the goddess Hathor as a celestial guide in the soul’s journey through the afterlife.
