The jaguar, snake, monkey, eagle, Xoloitzcuintli dog, and quetzal are Mexican animals, while the horse represents the Spanish Conquest of Mexico. Together, they form a fusion of bloodlines that represent not only modern Mexican society but also the different areas of the human brain struggling for control. The sacred peyote plant is located at the bottom; this is a genetic and spiritual struggle.
